NAM’s roots go as far back as the Garden of Eden, with the old lie, “… you will be like God …” (Gen 3:5 1 Scripture references in this article are from the Holy Bible, New International Version, (Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1978) ), and it has borrowed from many other philosophies and religions throughout the years-Transcendentalism, Spiritualism, New Thought/Mind Science, Eastern Religions, Native American Religions, and Transpersonal Psychology to name just a few. Writing a comparison of the New Age Movement (NAM) and Christian theology is challenging, since NAM is so nebulous and diverse. (Originally printed in the Fall 2009 Issue of the MCOI Journal)
